About AMINA

About me

I have over seven years of experience in healthcare and three years as a professional medical interpreter.
This unique combination allows me to serve clients with both compassion and understanding — not just as a translator, but as someone who knows how it feels to walk in their shoes.

I’m also the founder of Amina Hijab Fashion (AHF) — a modest fashion brand that celebrates elegance, culture, and faith. Both of my ventures share the same goal: to uplift and empower communities.

Connecting People, Cultures, and Care — With Compassion.

Bridge Care by Amina was created from a simple but powerful purpose: to help people find clarity, confidence, and care when navigating life in a new country.

I’m Amina Juma, a student nurse, community interpreter, and entrepreneur based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
For years, I’ve worked closely with patients, families, and immigrants who struggle to understand the systems meant to support them. I’ve seen how language barriers can cause frustration, delay, and sometimes even fear — and I wanted to change that.

Bridge Care was born to fill that gap — to bridge cultures, systems, and hearts.

Why I Started This Work

As a healthcare professional and interpreter, I met people who needed more than medical care — they needed someone to explain, guide, and stand beside them.
Many didn’t know where to start with paperwork, forms, or community resources.
So I began helping families after work — filling out forms, translating letters, and connecting them to help. What started as small favors became something bigger: a community service built on trust.

That’s how BridgeCare by Amina began — one family, one conversation, one heart at a time.
